Sex and the workplace: Assistant coupling with the dentist
Placed by : Looking for Dental 04-04-2007
“Just after I joined my company,” says a 27-year-old OL, “I began a relationship with my boss, who’s seven years older than me. A year later, I started getting together with his boss, who’s 13 years older. Of course, they both had a wife and kids. The boss’s boss and I – we just got along so well! We’d do soft S&M – he’d tie me up in my cardigan, or blindfold me with his handkerchief. Once he whispered in my ear, ‘I’d love to see the environment you grew up in.’ So I took him to my parents’ place when I knew they were out.”
What’s this all about? It’s a snippet from Shukan Gendai’s (Nov 18) “exhaustive survey” of sex in and around the workplace. As you might expect, there’s quite a lot of it. The comments and statistics are drawn from the magazine’s questioning of 1,000 “office ladies,” aged 20-35, from all over the country.
Where to begin? Perhaps with a group snapshot in numbers: 17.9% of Shukan Gendai’s respondents are married, 82.1% (naturally) single, 64% have regular sex partners, either husband or steady boyfriend. Of the married OLs, 16.1% claim to have sex partners other than their husbands. Who are those partners? Office colleagues, 62.1% of the time.
Are OLs promiscuous? Not really. Sixty percent of respondents report a lifetime total of 1-5 partners, as against only 7.2% claiming 20 or more. As many as 31.6% have sex only 2-3 times a month, versus 0.9% who have it “almost every day.” Asked if they considered themselves women of wide sexual experience, 89.6% answered no.
But anyway, work does create stress, which seeks, and generally finds, release.
“My boss and I were working overtime, just the two of us, and suddenly he started kissing me,” says a 27-year-old OL. “I was pretty stressed out myself. We ended up at a hotel. He’s in his mid-40s, but was able to keep it up until morning. Amazing.”
Work stress is fodder for love hotels, but 9.3% of office sex unfolds right there in the office.
“We were working on a holiday, my colleague and I” – this from a 23-year-old OL – “and there’s this section head, we both hate his guts, so we got up on his desk, me wearing high heels. The thought that a security guard might happen by had us on pins and needles the whole time.”
There’s something about converting a work space into a sex space that evidently adds a piquancy not present in the bedroom. Thus we hear of a dental assistant coupling with the dentist in the dentist’s chair, a teacher and a colleague taking advantage of the summer vacation hush in the teachers’ room, a doctor and a hospital clerk getting carried away in the hospital’s night-duty office (“I don’t know what we would’ve done if there’d been an emergency patient!”), and so on.
No account of this sort would be complete without a toilet episode, and Shukan Gendai does not disappoint. In fact there are several – the office toilet figuring most prominently, of course, but ... “My boss and I were traveling on business,” says a 31-year-old, “and we couldn’t stand it anymore, so we slipped into the shinkansen toilet.”
Truth, truly, is stranger than erotic fiction.
